Orlando Villa Overview

'THE VILLAGE' AT TUSCAN RIDGE Disney Mouse House can be found in 'The Village' at Tuscan Ridge on US Highway 27. Tuscan Ridge is split into two communities - 'Countryside' and 'The Village'. Our luxurious villa is set in the up-market 'Village' side of Tuscan Ridge. These expensive and limited exclusive homes were built by a designer-build local Orlando company called RD&C. Not like any 'ordinary' or 'typical' Floridian villa, Disney Mouse House has many original features and was probably one of the most expensive homes in the community as it has had an exceptionally high number of up-grades to the property. Located in Kissimmee/Davenport area, it is very close to Disney World (within 12 minutes drive), and within 30 minutes of all the other major Orlando attractions. Its central location and close proximity to the Interstate 4 (within 5 minutes drive) means you have easy access to take trips to both Atlantic and Gulf coasts e.g. Kennedy Space Centre, Cocoa Beach and Daytona on the east (Atlantic) coast and Tampa Bay, Clearwater, St Petersburg, Venice and Naples on the west (Gulf) coast. For those that want to venture further afield, come out of Tuscan Ridge, turn right onto US Highway 27 and drive for 225 miles on this road and you will end up in Miami! (Well worth a day or two's trip!) Nearby you will find a vast array of supermarkets, shops and restaurants. THE VILLA The villa's design is very much in an open-plan style that maximises and capitalises upon its spacious living conditions. It is built on two floors and is very large and spacious with nearly 3200 square feet under cover. It is of course fully air-conditioned (with heating too if ever required!) with two independent a/c systems - one for upstairs and the other for downstairs. The villa's design is quite unique in that it was designed with the home being built and centred around the luxurious enlarged pool with planter and waterfall found at the rear of the property. Access to the pool and lanai can be made from three rooms (by sliding patio doors) - the king master bedroom, the reading room and the family room. (All doors and windows to the pool area are protected with child safety alarms). The pool and lanai areas (both of which have been significantly enlarged) can be fully lit at night for your evening's entertainment and enjoyment. In addition there is an outdoor hot and cold water shower by the pool.

Swimming Pool

The home has a large extended, screened, swimming pool. The position and design of the home together with the fact that the pool is 'L-shaped' means the sun is on some, if not most, of both the pool and lanai all day. By the pool there is an outdoor hot and cold water shower. There are often many children's pool toys available. These do vary!

Lounge / Great Room

The family room has a large 50 inch HD plasma flat/wide-screen TV with digital cable, an HD compatible DVD player with many family and children's DVDs (in excess of 70) for your evening entertainment, a VCR and there is a 60 CD-changer hi-fi that is full of CDs. The hi-fi also has a radio and twin cassette player.

Lounge / Great Room

The home has a reading room that has many novels (too many to read in the space of your holiday) and has two large comfortable sofas with coffee table. This room overlooks, and has access to, the pool area.

Kitchen

In typical American style, the fully fitted kitchen overlooks both the breakfast and family rooms, meaning mum (or dad as the case may be!) can enjoy the company of the family whilst preparing food. In addition to the usual facilities, such as cooker, fridge/freezer and microwave, you will find many additional items such as a toaster, coffee-maker, slo-cooker, blender and food processor to name but just a few! As said, the kitchen is fully fitted in every way!

Garden

The villa has a large garden surrounded by palm and fruit trees (orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit and banana). Children are welcome to play in the garden area.

Master Suite

The master suite is en suite to the king master bedroom. Please see Bedroom 1 above for details.

The second master suite is en suite to the queen master bedroom. Please see Bedroom 2 above for details.

Bathroom

The home has a half-bath as it is termed. This is a toilet with a sink and vanity unit.

Bedroom1

Bedroom 1 is one of two master bedrooms. This king master bedroom has an en suite bathroom. In the bedroom there is a large TV with independent cable, a dressing table with drawers and two bedside cabinets (each with storage drawers.) It also has a large walk-in wardrobe. In the en suite bathroom there are twin vanity units (his and hers - each with its own sink unit), a Jacuzzi bath, separate toilet and a large twin shower unit. (No arguing over who gets to use the shower first!) A hair dryer can also be found in the en suite bathroom.

Bedroom 2

Bedroom 2 is the second of the two master bedrooms. This bedroom has a queen bed and it also has an en suite bathroom. In the bedroom there is a TV with independent cable, a dresser, two bedside cabinets (each with storage drawers) plus there is an additonal small chest of drawers. In the bedroom you will find a large built-in wardrobe too. In the en suite bathroom there is a vanity unit with sink, a toilet and a large walk-in shower unit. A hair dryer can also be found in the en suite bathroom.

Bedroom 3

Bedroom 3 is one of three twin bedrooms. It has a large built-in wardrobe, a chest of drawers, its own TV with independent cable, a large storage box plus there are Children's board games such as 'Monopoly' and 'Go'.

Bedroom 4

Bedroom 4 is the second of our three twin bedrooms. It has a large built-in wardrobe, a chest of drawers, its own TV with independent cable, plus there is a PlayStation2 with games.

Bedroom 5

Bedroom 5, the third of our three twin bedrooms, has a large built-in wardrobe, a chest of drawers, its own TV with independent cable, plus it has its own DVD player. Uniquely, we also offer complimentary themed bedrooms for children (a choice from five themes is available). Any or all of the three twin-bedrooms can be converted. The themes available are: - Little Princess - Little Mermaid - Tinkerbell - Spiderman - Pirates of the Caribbean.

Family Bathroom

The family bathroom serves the three twin bedrooms (The king and queen bedrooms each have their own en suite bathrooms.) In the family bathroom there is a toilet, sink with vanity unit and a bath with a shower above.

Games Room

In the games room you will find a pool table, an air hockey table, a foosball table, electronic darts and a large TV with its own independent cable system. Here too you will find tennis rackets and balls should you wish to make use of the on-site tennis court that is FREE to use by guests of Disney Mouse House.

Baby Facilities

The home has two cribs (one can be converted to a toddler bed), a high chair, a single buggy and also a double buggy.

Local Amenities

On site there is a tennis court that is FREE to use by guests of Disney Mouse House. Nearby you will find a vast array of supermarkets, shops and restaurants.

In fact, I cried as we drove away from your house on our last day and continued to cry all the way to Epcot for what would be our last day in Disney World. Having the extra strollers turned out to be such a bonus and both of them (plus the double we brought from home) ended up being used every day. Having never rented anything off the internet before, I must admit I had a few doubts about it, but right from my first contact with you, I thought I was on to something special and boy was I right. Everything worked just as you said it would. The key was there, the alarm codes worked, the house looked exactly how it looked on your site, it was located close to Disney World and very convenient to the I-4. Everything was neat and tidy, plenty of utensils in the kitchen, lots of space, the pool people came while we were out one day, etc., etc., etc. Much to our pleasant surprise on the Monday morning as we were leaving for Disney World, somebody graciously put our garbage can at the curb and even brought it in at the end of the day for us. Not sure if it was a neighbour or the management company or who, but if you know, thank them for us. When we left on Saturday, we had some unopened groceries – beer, pop, yogurt, fruit, cereal, popcorn and would have gladly left them if someone was coming in but since we didn’t know, we took them to your neighbour on the left with the three girls (and the giant black truck) and they were most appreciative. You truly have a very lovely home. My dad even mentioned that he has never stayed in a more quite neighbourhood! We never heard a sound, although I think we did hear a parrot or some other type of bird thing a couple afternoons, but it certainly was no bother – my daughter quite liked it! It was the perfect place to come home to after a long day at each of the many parks. My daughter loved the pool and the “waterfall” it had. We ended each day with a nice swim and usually the men (and I must admit, me too occasionally) wound up in front of the awesome TV watching some of the NHL hockey playoffs. We are all hockey fans and of course my husband and father are also into electronics (just a wee bit!!) and so loved the huge TV!! My daughter also loved her Little Mermaid room. She made the bed every morning (she doesn’t normally do this at home) just so she could see both Ariels. She also loved the games room and the air hockey table – we had lots of fun with it. We had a wonderful vacation and thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your home! It was terrific. We will definitely be back because one week is just not enough! Just when we thought the house couldn't get any better, the McConnell's added wireless internet connection, the newest Play Station system, new TVs, and a game room, complete with a pool table and air hockey! Between the game room, the collection of DVDs, video games, and the pool, our kids had no shortage of entertaining things to do (that didn't involve a theme park). Also, kudos to the management company - we called because a battery in the smoke alarm needed replacing (and no, we didn't check out the alarms upon arrival! One kept beeping, so we knew it was the battery) It was no time at all before it was taken care of & the guy was so friendly! It's a long drive from our home in Virginia to sunny Florida, but our "home away from home" at the Mouse House made every mile we drove worth it. We'll be back again next year! We've stayed at Myrtle Beach before and the cost comparison of those homes to this house for the benefits inside just cannot be beat! Our accommodation in our second week was at the Summer Bay timeshare resort on the 192 not far from Tuscan Ridge. Although it was very clean and had excellent amenities it did not compare with the villa. We met up with friends who were on holiday with Thomas Cook and were renting a villa farther up the 192. They came and stayed with us for a night and were 'wowed' by the villa, stating theirs was not a patch on ours. As far as doing anything extra for your customers or supplying anything extra, I don't think that would be possible. The level of amenities and facilities in the villa were exceptional, you have thought of everything and provided the ingredients for a superb holiday. If I could offer one point to maybe improve the website, it would be to get some photo's in the sunshine as the outlook from the pool when the sun was shining was superb. Apart from that nothing!! Entering the villa and seeing the dining table laid out with napkins in the glasses and the cutlery all shining was the perfect way to end a long day's travelling, we were at home at last.... But there was more... Walking from the dinning area into the kitchen, nook and family room was an unbelievable experience and as for the bedrooms... How one can rent a villa of this size at a peak season rate of £10.71 per night per person is unbelievably good value, in fact not even Travel Inn in the UK can beat the rates, and only the Ritz comes near on quality. Our two weeks at Disney Mouse House were about as close to the perfect family holiday that I think we will ever come. What better way to visit Disney than to get up in the morning, have breakfast while everyone gets ready, be at the parks for opening time and by 5pm be back at the villa relaxing those sore legs with a swim in the pool, before heading back to the Parks for the evening fireworks. In fact the pool was so fantastic that the kids were begging to leave the Theme parks and return for a swim by mid afternoon. Of course another major factor is your neighbours and we found the families both sides of Disney Mouse House and in front very friendly and helpful, giving us help and advice on shopping, restaurants and where my brother in law could go to watch Chelsea get beaten by Arsenal (unfortunately though on our visit this didn't happen!). Would we return again, well no, but that's only because we were so impressed that we have put our names down to buy a villa in the same village. Would we recommend anyone else to stay at Disney Mouse House - the answer is without a shadow of doubt YES.......it certainly was my best visit to Florida (3rd). There are three dining areas. These are: - the covered lanai for alfresco dining (there are two BBQs - 1 charcoal and 1 gas) - the breakfast nook - and the formal dining room that can seat 10 people.
