Animal Kingdom is the newest of the Disney World parks and one of my favourites. The park is dominated by the enormous ‘Tree of Life’ which is a sight to behold. It is a 14 storey tree that has a trunk that has 325 different animals carved into it! You could spend a whole day just trying to spot them all! Inside the Tree of Life is a show about a Bug’s Life. It is a great show with effects such as bugs running under your seats and many more which you will have to discover for yourself.
As the name ‘Animal Kingdom’ would suggest there are plenty of animals to see all through the park. There is a lovely train ride through the safari park where you can see all types of animals. There are walks where you can see fish and monkeys. It is nice that you don’t have to go on rides to see the animals. One of my fondest memories from the park is going to ‘Camp Minnie, Mickey’, which is a place where you can meet the characters. We went there with our 2 year old when the main parade was on so there were no ques at all! It felt so peaceful in this little corner of the park when it seemed everyone else was watching the parade. Bliss!
I am sure that Animal Kingdom has changed a lot since we went there 3 1/2 years ago. I am sure there are more rides and shows but hopefully it is still the park that you can get so much enjoyment from without having to go on any rides. Just walking around there is everything to see and do. A great park for the very young, the very old and everyone in between!
