This is a fantastic park and particularly for those that love movies! It is Florida’s little bit of Hollywood. There is a great mix of rides and shows. We have been there without kids and with our son and it is an amazing place for both types of trip.
The main rides for the adrenaline junkies would have to be ‘The Twighlight Zone Tower of Terror’. The name of the ride is very apt!! I have been on this ride a number of times but the time that sticks in my mind the most is the last time I went on it. It was with my other half and I was all calm and collected until the moment when you are on the ride and the lights suddenly turn on and you see where you are! All the feelings of the times I had ridden it before came flooding back in a wave of panic and I lost the plot!! From what I remember I was crying and telling my other half that I wanted to get off. Bearing in mind we were 13 storeys up in the air at this point I have no idea where I thought I was going to go!! There was nothing for it but to endure the ride with calm words being spoken to me all the way by my wonderful boyfriend. I survived obviously but I have never (and probably will never) set foot on that ride again!! But for all those who love the feeling of your stomach shooting out the top of your head then you will adore this ride!
There are many great rides and shows from ‘Muppets 3D’ show where cinema takes on a whole new experience with bubbles floating down and great 3D effects to the ‘Back Lot Tours’ which is a combination of a tour and a ride. The shows are varied too but the one that is a must see takes place in the evening! The show is called ‘Fantasmic’ and is truly breath taking. It takes place in a massive open air theatre surrounding a lake. The gates open 90 mins before the show starts and althought it seems exteme I would very much recommend getting there at this time as it fills up so quickly. There are sellers with fab glowing toys and merchandise which I challenge any excited parent not to buy for their kids!! We have managed to always get seats fairly near the front so I don’t know what the view is like from the seats at the back but I would imagine that it won’t alter the enjoyment of the show.
I won’t give away all the details but the show is basically fireworks and water displays with the characters all mixed together in a story. The effects are amazing (particularly where they project snippets of films onto sprays of water) and kids will be blown away by the whole experience. It really would be my top ‘must see’ for this park. Â A slight word of warning that our 2 year old spent most of the 25 minute show with his hands over his eyes saying it was too scary, until the last 2 minutes when he finally took them down and then declared it was fantastic and the best thing he had ever seen!! You can never account for kids!!
The ‘Aerosmith Rock ‘N Roller Coaster’ is an amazing ride. As you can gather I am not the most hardy thrill ride seeker but I really did enjoy this ride. The idea is you are late for an Aerosmith concert and you are in a limo that has to drive through the cityas quickly as possible to get there. You have Aerosmith music blaring into your ears from the speakers behind your head and the whole ride is just so fast. I remember road signs and trafic lights flashing past in a blur but I have no idea what happened on the ride. I am sure it went upside down and back to front but you couldn’t tell because of the sheer speed. It is great fun and a must try!!
