Florida Wildlife – Its All Around

One of the fun things about Florida that people I think often do not think about is that it is a subtropical climate and this therefore means that we get some pretty cool animals about. Now there are a nice selection of some scary ones but they want to stay away from you in the same way that you want them to stay away. Some of the proper historical animals and beasts are out there and living in relative harmony with the people that live in Florida but there are a number of places where you can go and make the most of the animals. the screamingly obvious ones going down to the Everglades where we can all relive the romantic idea of climbing on an air boat with “Gentle Ben” and go charging off to see what animals you could see. For those wanting to commune with nature there is a great chance to go and see the best of the Everglades with the likes of ADD LINK HERE where you can see the crocodiles, fish and wild birds.

You must not forget however there are lots more animals you will get a chance to see all over the place as you navigate around. This picture of a Gecko I took just after arriving in Blizzard Beach and it was the first of a few of them that were running around, this is a great thing to be able to just sit and watch, the same is often the case when sitting by the pool and watching smaller version running across the fly shell!

Now as well as these more real wildlife of places there are a number of places to go where you can see some fantastic wildlife. The most famous will of course be sea world where you can see Manatee, dolphin, seal lions, flamingo’s and those big things………aah yes whales!! Then for those wanting to see some of the drier animals a great place to go is Busch Gardens. This is one of the parks that is often missed by visitors as it is a little further away but you have to expect that to see a 335 acre animals park. This is part of the same group that own Sea World and so you are sure to have a fantastic time and see some truly great animals. This is always a favourite with the wife who is a sucker for White Tigers there and having bought a towel of a white tiger on our last visit, anytime she goes swimming that towel is hers!! Busch gardens offers a mighty mix of awesome rides as well as some fantastic animals. If Carlsberg could build a zoo……………..
