For me the first time I actually wanted to go on a propoer Crazy Golf course was watching Karate Kid where Daniel (the new karate master) takes his beloved to a fun park of some description. To be honest I wanted to go to the whole park as they were even going down water slides in what was clearly cold weather at night! I guess the wonders of a night shoot when they can use the facility in day time! Anyway, there was proper crazy golf there, rather the depressing version that you get at the seaside in the UK which is basically lumpy concrete painted green and it fits in 30 square metres. As with everything else the Florida version is better and bigger (that should be the state motto!).
The first US version I did was in up state New York at a great lake summer location called Lake George, along with a batting cage and it is a great laugh when everyone get into the spirit of it. Some people mock the Americans for doing everything big and loud but I applaud it as although they go over the top sometimes and it can go over cheesy a lot of the time that appear properly genuine and what people to have fun whilst they make their money and I have no problem with that.
Crazy Golf US style is a great example of this as the course is so wonderfully themed. When you arrive you pay your money and get your putter and multi coloured ball and a score sheet and off you head. There are a load of courses in Florida but one of the more famous ones and apparently voted as the best crazy golf in Florida is the Pirates Cove Mini Golf off International drive which is a great example of how something is done well and when prices are in the region of$10 then it makes it quite an attractive prices offer as well.
Where else could there possibly be where you have a crazy Golf course where there are loads of live alligators around that you can even feed if you want? Only Florida!!! Head off to the Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf and that is exactly what you get. Below is a video of Smugglers Cove, just look at the surroundings! It is amazing!!
