Celebration is a planned community developed by a Walt Disney Company which commissioned leading architects to lay down a master plan and design the buildings. It reflects the style of small American towns from the early 1900’s. Work was begun in 1994.
There are about 2,500 homes set in among several lakes. The downtown area of Market Street and Main Street is a small, pedestrian-friendly shopping centre where you will find retail shops, restaurants, coffee shops, a town hall, post office and cinema. Main Street is a wide promenade circling the main lake.

You can eat in one of the lakeside restaurants or sit on the public rocking chairs at the lake’s edge beneath a sun shade and take in the view across the lake. A notice warns you that “It is contrary to Floridean law to feed or harass the alligators.â€

When you’ve had enough of sitting, you can take a leisurely stroll through the parks and around the lakes. We like to walk around the back of the Celebration Hotel.
Celebration - An idyllic place to live
The wide path leads past the main lake through a small wood where the squirrels are obviously used to human contact.

The path takes you past more lakes where you will see stalks, herons and water fowl.
Celebration is easily accessible. From I-4 West take Exit 64 and go towards Kissimmee. Turn right onto Celebration Avenue. From I-4 East take Exit 62 towards Disney/Celebration, take Toll Rd. 417 North, take Exit 2 ramp (Celebration Avenue) and turn right. Follow the signs to Market Street.
