Outback Steak House is where I would eat every meal if I was give the chance! For those that like a good steak then the Outback Steakhouse is the place to head. The restaurant is located on that magical road that keep being mentioned – the 192.
I still remember the Outback from the first time I went there. It was my first trip to Florida and I was loving all that was around but feeling lost in the size of the place, my brother had declared that we had to go to a Outback Steakhouse as it was the best place to get a steak and so off the whole family went in search of the restaurant. As we did everything on the spur of the moment we of course did not have a reservation and seating 8 is not always that simple and so on arrival we were told there would be a 20 minute wait or so. We were handed (what is now very common but new to us) a flashy buzzer that would magically vibrate and flash when the table was ready and eventually when it did we were off and running.
I have been to the Outback each time that we have been to Florida and most recently of course my good lady wife has come also, she is not of the basic type of eater as I am who is more than happy with a big steak and pile of chips and so at this point I would like to point out that whilst this is a steakhouse it also offers a great selection of other foods as they understand not everyone in the party will want a steak! There is a nice selection of other food options that will keep the non steak eater happy and so feel rest assured!
One of my funny memories of Florida was that on one occasion going for our steak meal I ask for a medium rare Rib eye but was told I could not have a medium rare as they had sold out! Now this of course raises a number of questions, the first being how can you sell out of a certain cooking level? and secondly if there was such a thing then why not get a more rare steak and cook it a bit more? When I questioned the waitress (you couldn’t not!) I was informed that the steaks are cooked and then transported and then re-cooked or heated or something to order. Now – At this stage I am sure you are thinking this is so wrong and how awful they must be! However, they must be using some kind of witch craft as the steaks are just so juicy and full of taste that this is why I keep going back time and time again.
If you are planning on visiting the Outback I would recommend to make a point of booking a table, it is not something that needs to be done days in advance but a day would be enough as there is a lot of walk in traffic (this is Florida after all) and so you can ensure your place. Also then you can select some popular options like the great America Surf & Turf where there is the very popular option of Steak and lobster as the opulent meal choice.
Mel, although not keen on the steaks loves this place also but I think that might be because the was asked for ID the last time were there for the glass of wine that she wanted!! If you are a meat eater – You MUST go here. Have a look at their Florida map to find the closest one for you
