Florida Food Shopping – Villa Setup

 

One thing I love about going to Florida as a whole is food shopping. Personally I think their supermarkets are wonderful places. Depending on the type of one you go to you can buy everything you need, the prices (especially with exchange rates) and so much cheaper that add that to the fact that you are on holiday and you get a bit carried away. Prodcuts are pretty much the same although some challenges exist, i still to this day nearly always buy the wrong type of milk the first time as there is no full fat, semi skimmed, as they all just have percentages of fat. So i tend to buy one of each on the first trip. There are all kinds of snacky goods that are hard to avoid like a small pack on doughnuts should be in the fridge really, and fresh orange juice. Very easily you buy a load of food. Some things to remember though on your first trip. I recommend getting to the villa, some stay in the villa to set up home and others do a quick scan of the villa to see what needs buying other than obvious food stuffs

• Does your florida villa have a BBQ – If so this is a great way way to end a Florida day when it is still warm and standing by the pool. So get some nice meat or fish or vegetables and BBQ them.
• It is a good idea to buy a pack of small water bottles. You will generally find you always keep one on you on holiday, this is not so much about the water but when going around the Florida Attractions it is a good idea to have a bottle of drink
• Does the villa require and cleaning items? Washing up cloths
• Is toilet roll supplied or required
• Is there a need for any mosquito spray or is everyting sealed such as your villas private swimming pool
• You will be driving everywhere in Florida – Need any car sweets for children, also a good idea to keep some drink in the car BUT remember parking in the sun makes it go questionable
• Many Florida Villas come with pool toys - If you have children then the swimming pool is likely to get used a lot and it is often a good idea to buy some cheap toys if your vacation villa does not have any toys.
