Being true Florida lovers, having had our first holiday in Florida and engaged in Florida when we got married and the idea of a honeymoon came around the location was not a tough one. Having been to the Maldives before we thought that was an option and it would be the idyllic honeymoon location as the brochures will show, but then we thought if we were going to spend some money on a holiday it should be to the place that we love the most. There could only be one answer to that one! Florida.
However as we thought about it and how Florida holidays are, we thought it would be good with the 2 of us but it would be more fun with some friends and so we decided to make the most of the different areas of the state.
So we knew the people that we wanted to ask, having been with them before and knowing they are just as childish as we are. Fortunately they were keen to come to and so the plans were drawn up. As this was a honeymoon we started hunting for a 5 bed luxury villa even though we only needed 2 rooms so that we can slob in the space and benefit from a larger pool.
This worked really well as we were with good friends and in the best place in the world. We all flew out together, picked up matching convertibles (different colours so we did not get confused) and spent
2 weeks doing Florida!
There is of course the normal level or suprise when talking to people and saying that you took friends on your honeymoon but for those that have been to Florida before I suspect you will understand. Florida is a wonderul place to go to with any number but if you can go with people that a like minded to yourself then it makes the holiday better we believe. The benefits I think talk for themselves but for those that have not been, going to Florida with friends can be great as, whilst making your way around the parks there will always be a selection of rides and things to do that one will want to do and the other not. Taking the friends with you means that you can leave, for example, the ladies to go and see a show or something whilst you go off on the fast rides as this is how it works in our family with my Mrs is not so keen on the bigger stuff and I can live without some of the shows!! I think honeymoons are meant to be fun and a nice enjoyable and this is what we had it was a great time!!
After the 2 weeks my new bride and I then had an extra 4 days in Fort Lauderdale on the soft white beaches and outdoor eating to make the most of a beach as well and ensure we have some nice quiet relax time (never a bad idea as Florida if exhausting in a great way)
It was a fantastic honeymoon, and the wife is still with me so can’t be that bad
