Yesterday has seen the launch of the new Florida Premier Villas website. This new website was launched to help visitors to the site to be able to see the villas that we offer across Orlando and Florida. A major part of this new site is to make the villas appearance consistent and the content of the pages to be written in the same format and style so that visitors can read the content more easily.
Over the next few weeks we will be going through all villas and with the assistance of villa owners we will also be updating all photos to have high quality photos and ensure that they maximise the quality of the photos. We will also be implementing calendars from villa owners so that visitors to the site can see the availability as much as possible on the page.

One of the attractions that Disney has over in Florida that is slightly less main stream is the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Part of this I suspect for us over in the UK is that Richard Petty is a famous speedway racing driver and that is not a motorsport that is watched much in the UK as we tend to watch more of the F1 and smaller racing events.
The Richard Petty Driving Experience is a chance to get behind the wheel of a full on Nascar drving machine and take it out for a 8, 18 or 30 lap drive, for the none drivers there is the option to have a ride along experience where you get to be driven around the tri oval track.

Ihop (The International House of Pancakes) is a great eatery to try and last time we went to Florida we spent a good few meals there. If you have not had an American style pancake then they are a treat in my eyes. The pancakes are about 4 inches across and about 3 times the thickness of what the British would associate as being a pancake but they are quite fluffy, I want to say that they are quite light but they are not! For some unknown reason they do insist on having a blob of butter on them and I am not sure of the idea of that and can assure you that mine is immediately removed. As far as I am concerned that is just wasting perfectly good space where there should be maple syrup.
Now, as you can imagine this is not a great place for those looking to lose a pound or 2 but I would also say that Florida (or in fact the US) is not a great place for doing that as you can assume portions to be generous and hence feeling rather bloated after pretty much every meal! There are so many different reasons and benefits of renting a Florida Villa direct from the owners for your dream Florida Holiday. Some are more obvious than others I think personally and my wife I am sure may come up with a few different but as people that love going to Florida and also love staying in Florida when we are there
I find this an unusual Blog post to be writing as I cannot imagine any reason why someone would not want to go to Florida in the first place but I suppose there are always some people that are not quite sure and so here is a blog post try and push you over the edge.
I think one thing that people do not allow for is that there are so many different things in Florida to see and do and so it is not all about Disney and Universal Studios although they are both things that have to be thought about.
I think what is a common problem though is that there is not the allowance that there are a lot of things that people like to do, for example there is some great shopping, the wildlife in Florida is great as it is varied and different to the the animals here in the UK. People’s first memories often is from tv and for me it was gentle Ben where you had a bear going around on an Airboat in the Everglades! This shows you the selection of wildlife there is to make the most of.

The two guys that golf have reviewed the Highlands Reserve golf course, this is one of the more popular golf course with villa renters as well as Florida Villas in Highlands Reserve are a popular choice and have some of the larger and really dreamy properties. So if you are looking for a great villa and golf course option then you will not be disappointed by Highlands Reserve.
Highlands Reserve in Davenport just west of the Disney Resort area, is a Mike Dasher design that is atypical in the Orlando golf market. This mid-priced course features water in play on just 2 holes, as pine tree lined fairways traverse past nature preserves and citrus groves, along a rolling terrain that features elevation changes of as much as 120 feet. This Scottish highlands links style layout boasts panoramic views, immaculately maintained playing surfaces, spacious landing areas and large, mildly undulating putting surfaces. The greens are often multi-tiered, so paying attention to the day’s pin placement is advice worth heeding.

When booking a villa you are often offered some extras that you can chose to have, these will range in price and type but to give you an idea of some of the options here are some of them.
Pool heating is by far the most common extra that will be offered when you come to book your villa and depending on time of year is the destinction of whether or not it is a good idea. Travelling in the summer months will typically mean there is no need for pool heating, with the sunshine and humidity giving you a lovely 30-40 degree temperature then the heated water is not needed. Along comes September and then it is worth thinking about as the temperature overnight especially drop enough that if you are looking to use the pool at the villa more often then you need to think it is a good idea. Some florida villa owvers have pool blankets which are designed so that some night time you cover the pool to avoid heat loss at night, these are very useful and can avoid the need for the extra heat for an extra month or 2.
Pool heating is typically about £110 a week and so not the cheapest option but can make the pool a great experience rather than the thing you are scared about getting in for the day

Black Friday in the US is the infamous shopping day where big deals are offered for a short term and limited stock levels and so it tends to return all shoppers to resort to basics and become animals again. Black Friday for 2011 is on Friday 25th November as it is marked each year as being the last Friday in November which is also the day after Thanksgiving and it is the official start of Christmas shopping in the UK for companies. How the shopping goes on Black Friday is typically used as the measure as to how the whole Christmas selling season will go.
If you have seen this on the tv or been to the closest thing that we have which is a Harrods sale, it is not uncommon for people to queue for days to be at the front of the queue, this gives you an idea of the sale quality!

It is the sad truth that we can’t be in Florida all the time although that would be nice. Although that is the case it is nice to be reminded of what we like about it and whilst surfing the tinternet the other day I came across some great web cams and so I thought I would share them with the group. The main one is a great shot of main street in the Magiv Kingdom and if you time the viewing right then you get to watch one of the parades go by. It is of course rather depressing that it is lovely and sunny and a lovely day over there and here in the UK it is the 4th November, has been raining solid for 2 days and pretty much every leaf has now fallen off the trees. We are now all looking forward to Christmas and the start of the new year and that hopefully next year might involve some sun shine!
What I will say also though is that typically straight after Christmas we all start thinking about summer holidays and booking ourselves a great escape and so when the time comes remember to find yourself a great Florida Villa and have the time of your life in the best place on earth.
