For me the first time I actually wanted to go on a propoer Crazy Golf course was watching Karate Kid where Daniel (the new karate master) takes his beloved to a fun park of some description. To be honest I wanted to go to the whole park as they were even going down water slides in what was clearly cold weather at night! I guess the wonders of a night shoot when they can use the facility in day time! Anyway, there was proper crazy golf there, rather the depressing version that you get at the seaside in the UK which is basically lumpy concrete painted green and it fits in 30 square metres. As with everything else the Florida version is better and bigger (that should be the state motto!).

Something I have always thought was amazingly American was this fascination with batting cages. For those are not aware of what I mean, I am sure you have seen on in a movie, normally at a father and son bonding moment in the movie. Now I appreciate that baseball is an American sport and so of course it is American but name me another sport that does this, you don’t see cricket bat versions, or football (soccer) cages where you can go and thump some balls around!
Baseball cages though are a good place to vent as well for those that remember playing similar sports when they were younger (I am in this group), this is a great chance to pull some muscles and hurt yourself. Disney Parades are a huge part of the Disney parks. They encompass the feel of Disney and include a lot of the favourite Disney characters. The theme of the parades changes over the years and quite often they theme them to show case a new Disney film that is being released. There are characters, amazing floats, dancers and of course insanely catchy Disney music!!! Currently at the Magic Kingdom, the parade is ‘Disney’s Share a Dream Come True’ parade which sees your favourite Disney characters and beloved stories inside giant snow globes!! It sounds amazing and, like everything else Disney does, they do it 200%. The parade is held daily at 3pm (and is referred to as ‘the afternoon parade’).
The parade route is one of two routes. It either starts at Town Square and works it way to Frontierland or it begins in Frontierland and works it’s way towards Town Square. I came across these photos recently of an artist that makes awesome pictures on the pavements of Germany. This is a great example of someone that has got a fantastic drawing skills and come up with a great and entertaining way of using it. If you can imagine the skill of the animators that work at the parks of Disney, Universal Studios and the like then I think this must be the same kind of league!!
Florida must be the largest consumer of fireworks in the world but come the 5th November we Brits get in on the action.
Guy Fawkes night which better named in the UK these days as being Bonfire Night is of course the biggest firework event in the uk however most of our firework displays are local groups and as such they are amateur events and the fireworks that Disney do Every Night dwarf them. It would be understandable for the English celebration that started after that Guy Fawkes bloke tried to blow up parliament could be overlooked – But hold that thought!
In Florida these days there is a large ex pat community and these are the guys that like a good Bonfire Night that is not themed, is just good old fashioned burning someone at the stake and then firing things in the sky. Hence there was the creation of the Kissimmee Guy Fawkes Bonfire night!

There are a great selection of times when it is fun to be in Florida, and yes I know it is always fun to be in Florida but this is about Extra fun! Halloween is one of those times. In England we don’t really do Halloween, in America they really do do Halloween and in Florida with the parks, as you can imagine they go a bit further!!!!!!

Whilst surfing around the web the other day I came across a site the other day that I thought people might like to know about. It is called Hot Deals Orlando and as you can imagine it offers deals that people in the Orlando area can make the most of. Legoland Florida the NEW Florida Theme Park opened 15th October in it central Florida location. People started arriving to gain entry at 5.30 am to ensure that they were some of the first into the new park. With the park trying to make its mark by ensuring it price is at least $10 under the entry ticket for other major parks are delclaring that this park is a “Game Changer” for central Florida.
