Having done a good number of holidays to Florida we realise that having a rough idea of what you want to do on each day is a good way of making sure you get time to do all the amazing things you want to do. I am not saying it is something that needs to be stuck to regardless but having a rough idea we find makes things easier.
The below is a possible Itinerary for a 14 day holiday:
Day 1: Arrival. Other than arriving, finding your car hire then finding your villa, that will be pretty much it for that day. If you do get the time then take a trip to your local supermarket to get some supplies so that you can start tomorrow feeling fairly organised.
Day 2: Orientation/Recharge. Quite often tour reps organise orientation meetings on your first day in Florida. We haven’t actually attended one of these meetings but I think they are about finding out what there is to do and the opportunities to get tickets/vouchers etc. If you are a Florida virgin then it may well be worth attending. Couple this with a recharge day. Go for a swim/sleep/have a drive around just really chill out and enjoy being in Florida on holiday!
Day 3: Magic Kingdom. Lets face it, there is only so long you can wait before visiting the pinical of Disney World!! Use the whole day!
Day 4: Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Allow the evening to watch ‘Fantasmic’.
Day 5: Animal Kingdom. Another full on day!
Day 6: Blizzard Beach. A water park day. We have found that it is quite nice to use ‘water park days’ as kind of relax days as well. They are much more low key than the main parks and you can always do a half day there then have an afternoon to chill out at your villa. It is a good idea after a few fully packed days.
Day 7: Epcot. Fantastic evening firework display.
Day 8: Sea World. Although we haven’t been to them, there are evening shows including a Shamu evening show.
Day 9: Universal. A full day of fun.
Day 10: Typhoon Lagoon. Another ‘water park day’ for cooling off and relaxing.
Day 11: Busch Gardens. A bit of a further drive away than the Disney parks so allow for the extra time.
Day 12: Kennedy Space Centre. Again a longer drive to get there so factor this into your plans for the day.
Day 13. Shopping/Packing. Try a trip to the Beltz Factory Outlets or visit the great gift shops on the I-95.
Day 14: Fly home
.
This is just one of many possible line ups for a 14 day trip to Florida. My suggestion would be to have a look before you go at all there is to offer and then decide for yourself what you want to include in your visit. There is no way you will be able to see and do everything in two weeks but then that just gives you the perfect reason to plan your next trip!!
I haven’t done an itinerary for a 7 day visit because it would be as follows: Book another week and follow the above 14 day itinerary!!
