Universal Studios is a great place to go and has loads of rides for all ages. We have been there a couple of times, once without kids and once with. One of my favourite rides there is the E.T ride. I loved the film and I was so excited when I saw there was an E.T ride at Universal. Being very much a child at heart it really appealed to me.
When you first walk in and go through the queing area you have to give your name to a machine which was a bit unexpected and then you walk through into the forest that E.T is lost in in the film. It really is dark and there is a damp smell to it. As usual the scenery is amazing and there is plenty to keep your eyes occupied while you are queing. Little details like the hearts of the other E.Ts in the forest light up and the atmosphere they have created is unique. The actual ride is not for the thrill seekers amoungst you as it is a kid’s ride. You climb into bigger versions of the bike that Elliot rode in the film complete with basket and an E.T in the front. The ride takes you through all the most memorable and famous parts of the film and what they have created is breath taking.
The ride ends with you returning E.T to his home planet and as it comes to an end, E.T thanks you personally by name!! Now the reason for giving the machine your name at the start becomes clear!! Mike was not as sold as I was on this ride but for any E.T fan it is a wonderful fly through the adorable film!
