When booking a villa you are often offered some extras that you can chose to have, these will range in price and type but to give you an idea of some of the options here are some of them.
Pool heating is by far the most common extra that will be offered when you come to book your villa and depending on time of year is the destinction of whether or not it is a good idea. Travelling in the summer months will typically mean there is no need for pool heating, with the sunshine and humidity giving you a lovely 30-40 degree temperature then the heated water is not needed. Along comes September and then it is worth thinking about as the temperature overnight especially drop enough that if you are looking to use the pool at the villa more often then you need to think it is a good idea. Some florida villa owvers have pool blankets which are designed so that some night time you cover the pool to avoid heat loss at night, these are very useful and can avoid the need for the extra heat for an extra month or 2.
Pool heating is typically about £110 a week and so not the cheapest option but can make the pool a great experience rather than the thing you are scared about getting in for the day 
 Pool heating levels can often be set in the villa as well and so you can set the level just right for you. One year we thought it would take and age to warm it up and so left it on full, that was a mistake as it was like a bath – This is not actually nice.
If you do want pool heating then it is worth booking in advance (although it can normally be done locally as well) as it can be turned on before you get there, meaning that as soon as you arrive you are able to get straight into the perfect pool.
For those of you out there that are like me and will happily BBQ if given half a chance this is a no brainer. It is worth checking with the owner of the villa that you have selected about a BBQ. Sometimes there is a BBQ available for use with the villa and with others this is an optional extra, this is one of the advantages of booking direct with the owner as you can find out this kind of information and be sure of the answer!
Personally I am an old school BBQ man and would like charcoal, but this is a no no if Florida as they are all gas BBQ’s but on the plus side as this is a rather full on holiday the ability to just turn on a BBQ is nice. Hiring rates are typically about $35 a week as this covers some wear and tear but more importantly the gas for it.
If you are staying for a longer time and want to give the villa a spring clean without having to do it yourself then you can sometimes order an extra clean of the villa when the villa management company will getting their cleaning crew to come in and go through the villa for you whilst you are having a fun day and then you can return to the villa as if you had first arrived.
The welcome pack is all about trying to make your arrival a little easier and smoother. Some villas offer this but not all and the price varies depending on the type of pack. Typically though a welcome pack will mean that when you arrive in your Florida villa there will already be for you waiting a selection of the basics such as bread, tea, coffee, cereal, butter but basically enough things so save you needing to go to the shops having just come off a a nice long flight. This is a nice idea to allow you to arrive, have a drink and a swim and get into holiday mode!
Many villas offer a cot for infants as it is a standard part of their villa but in others it is an optional extra as the management company will bring one in for you and so check with the owner
A great tool in Florida is a Sat Nav as although the roads in Florida for the main attractions are well laid out and signposted but when you go to attractions other then the main stream attractions then this gives you the confidence to find them and know you can always find your way back to the villa! This is a good one to invest in if it is offered as often it is also preloaded with all the attractions.
