Loved It – Want To Go Again to Typhoon Lagoon Orlando

Typhoon Lagoon near Orlando Florida is a wonderfully themed water park located near the main attraction and close to pretty much any of the villas offered through Florida Premier Villas. The design is that of a paradise in the South sea islands with a nice selection of fast and slow rides water rides so that you can zip along… or float and meander. At the centre of the park is a Mountain with a boat perched on top called Miss Tilly, and when you hear the boom and see Miss Tilly rock then it is time to be in the main Lagoon as it is time for Wave Machine to fire.

The Actual Typhoon Lagoon

This is a very large wave pool. It is intended really as a swimming area with nice lapping edge of the beach. When the trigger is fired for the wave machine then the waves can get up to six feet high. Some coves, built in to each side of the lagoon, offer some protection from the waves should you need. There are a number of life guard posts around the lagoon and from what I have seen they look to be very alert all the time.

Castaway Creek

Castaway Creek is a meandering stream that floats around the perimeter of Typhoon Lagoon. It is often used as a way to get round the park, rather then walk to a ride you want to go on you can simply jump on an inner tube that are found along the route and let the gentle current push you along the river, when you are where you want to be, simply leave the inner tube on the river and climb out of the next set of steps. Humonga Kowabunga

Humunga Kowabunga is a high speed slide. For those that want to have a bit of thrill in an otherwise calm day climb the steps and take the run.

Shark Reef

Shark reef is a great attraction to allow you to see some true sea life. In this attraction you put on a mask, snorkel and life jacket and enter a saltwater pool and gently swim to the other side. The pool is filled with tropical fish and even some small sharks but gives you a chance to have an eperience similar to swimming with these colourful animals in a simulated surrounding. This is a great attraction for child AS LONG as they are happy using a mask and snorkel in what can be a cool-cold salt water pool.

Storm Slides

These are 3 of the more typical water slides. each is slightly different and allowing the rider to try and go faster thent he other riders, the climb back up and do it again lying down or face first!

White Water Tube Rides

These are a selection of rides where you take the ride in an inner tube. This makes is more of a challenge and these are my favourites. If like I you flinch going down plain slides at the work of catching the joins in the slide the these avoid this problem. Added to which some of the slides are for 2 people inner tubes or even 4 in 1 case and then the ride gets a whole lot more interesting as the challenge is on to see you gets the wettest and who get stuck going down backwards for most of the time!

Ketchakiddie Creek

As a family man these areas are of course important. These have been well designed to allow kids to play as safely as they can in water. Of course any parent is ultimately in charge of their childs safety and this is no different at Typhoon Lagoon and this pool area is well laid out to assist. With shallow water to play in, slides for them to go down that are fun without an opportunity for them to get hurt. This is a great version of a themed kids water play area.
