Wet ‘n Wild Water Park

If you have exhausted both of the Disney water parks and are still thirsty for more water park action you should get yourself to Wet ‘n Wild water park on International Drive. It is very much your usual park set up and the rides are plentiful. There should be plenty to keep all ages happy here from the kiddies pool, with a huge bucket that fills up then tips a waterfall onto people below and all the fun rides in miniture, to the ‘Bomb Bay’ which is a nearly vertical slide that drops 76 feet.

Wet ‘n Wild has lots of slightly more sedate rides such as ‘The Surge’, a 600 ft tube ride that 4 people can ride at once, The ‘Mach 5′, a head first slide on a mat and the’ ‘Bubba Tub’, a family ride in a tub style float down 6 storeys of bumps and falls. In the center of the park there is the main pool, Surf Lagoon, that has intermitent waves and plenty of sun loungers surrounding it for getting in that all important sun bathing. Chilling out in an inflatable ring round the lazy river is another way to catch some rays.

One of the rides that has been added since I have been there is ‘The Storm’. It is a body coaster that the rider goes through a flume into a giant bowl with a hole in the bottom that then drops the rider 3 feet into the pool below. Sounds like a thriller of a water ride.

I haven’t visited Wet ‘n Wild in a very long time but I do remember thinking that it was a good place to spend an afternoon in the Florida sun but in my opinion it doesn’t come close to the Disney waterparks. The disney feel runs through their water parks and everything is themed to the smallest details which to me makes all the difference in seperating the good water parks from the great ones. But this is only my opinion so go along and make your own mind up!!
